Three weeks to go!

So, in three weeks, it’ll be the first Brighton Bloggers’ Bash! I must say, I was worried for a second there that I would  have to cancel. However, there are enough tickets sold to mean that the event will go ahead as planned. If you still want a ticket, there are a limited (read: single figures) number left.

I’m hoping to link to the people and blogs that will be coming to the bash in the next two weeks. If you’ve signed up, please look out for an email from me today or tomorrow asking you to confirm your blog details and with info about the day itself.

It’s all getting rather exciting (although we could do with more raffle prizes!)

4 weeks to go and a plea

So, four weeks today, the Blogger’s Bash is on!

Except I’m panicking. It might well be pregnancy hormones (and the fact that I do everything well in advance!) that are causing the issue, but also the fact that I’ve not yet sold enough tickets to justify the event going ahead. I don’t need to sell many and thank you to those of you who have bought a ticket! If you have bought a ticket- thanks! If you’ve emailed me about buying a ticket and haven’t, please consider doing so! It’ll be fun and at the very least, you’ll get some tea and cake out of it…

So far, I have four prizes lined up for the raffle. If you can donate something, please get in touch!

If you’ve bought a ticket, please tell others about the event- blog, tweet or invite people from the Facebook event page here: http://www.facebook.com/events/218655341579463/

The bash is open to all bloggers- newbies, aspiring, old-hats, crafty, political, parental: all bloggers and blog types are welcome!

Let’s get this show on the road- and hopefully I will see you on June 9th!

Seven weeks to go!

So, it’s just under seven weeks until the Blogger’s Bash and some of you may be wondering whether or not it’s worth buying a ticket. Here are some reasons why you should:

1) It’s a great way for you to meet like-minded people. The whole reason I came up with the idea of the BB is because so many of us know each other ‘online’ that it’s a shame that we don’t know each other ‘offline’. I’m hoping that by meeting and getting to know each other in the flesh, new projects could happen! Wouldn’t it be great if you met someone you only knew vaguely on Twitter and then, a few months down the line, did something marvellous?

2) There will be a chance for those attending to discuss blogging in the South East and how it can be used for business/charity/getting your work out there/a hobby/being a superhero. There will also be talks by me (‘Confessions of a Serial Blogger: or How To Find A Blog You Like And Stick With It’ or something.)

3) All profits will go directly to MIND. There will be a shiny raffle of loveliness with brilliant prizes. I’ve already been offered some and, by jove, they’re marvellous. I’m also going to start hitting up local businesses in the next few weeks. MIND is a great charity and there will be opportunities to donate any loose change you have when you get to the venue!

4) You’ll be supporting one of Brighton’s newest and most interesting work spaces, Super + Super.

5) Where else in Brighton will you get unlimited tea and some cake for £6.50?? As a resident who haunts the city’s many cafe establishments, I can safely say: nowhere.

So, if you want your ticket- email me brightonbloggersbash(at)gmail(dot)com

Brighton Bloggers Bash Needs YOU

How can you help?

Brighton Bloggers Bash needs you to help spread the word so that we can sell all the tickets and have a great afternoon! If you can, it would be great if you could retweet, post blogs, or just tell people about what’s happening on June 9th.

Can you donate?

Do you make stuff? Or work for a really nice Brighton-based company that might donate something to the raffle in aid of MIND? All donatees will feature on the blog, with links.

Super + Super HQ

So yesterday I took myself off to meet the lovely ladies at Super + Super in the Laines was very much charmed by what I saw there. It looks like it’ll be a perfect venue for the first (?) Bloggers Bash!

The HQ itself is in a very charming old, converted shop, with iron bannisters and bright, high ceilings. It’s a perfect place for what I want to do with the bash and Amy and Claire were very supportive when discussing the outcome of the afternoon. (FYI, if you’re freelancing and want somewhere to work outside of home, they are offering desk space at a very reasonable rate!)

So, tickets are being sold- but have you got yours? If you want one, email brightonbloggersbash(at)gmail(dot)com… they won’t be around for too long!

Planning continues

So, the tickets to the Bash have started to sell and I will, at some point, start putting links up to the attending bloggers’ blogs. I’m due to go and have a really good nosy round the venue at some point (I’m full of cold at the moment though, which is not fun. At. All.) and I’m making decisions about cake and stuff. Which, by the way, if you make, you can still get in touch and let me know if you’d like to make something for the bash. You will be paid!

Some of the craftier bloggers who have signed up have pledged some really lovely prizes for the raffle in aid of MIND, but  I could always do with more… if you could donate, or know someone who could, let me know!

There are still tickets available, so if you want one, get in touch!

How to get a ticket to Brighton Blogger’s Bash…

So, you’d like to come to the Brighton Blogger’s Bash? Brilliant!

Here’s how you buy a ticket: email me on brightonbloggersbash (at) gmail (dot) com and I can send you a Paypal link. By doing it this way, I can keep track of who is buying tickets.

When emailing, please can you provide me with the following details:

Your name

Your address

Your blog address

I won’t be sending tickets out, but adding your name to the guestlist. Please let me know if this is a problem for you.

So what do you get for your £6.50?

- An opportunity to network with other bloggers; bring your business cards if you have them!

- Unlimited tea and a slice (or maybe two) of cake

- A talk by me (which I hope will be interesting! If you’d like to give part of the talk, get in touch)

- A discussion about blogging and how it benefits you

- You’ll be entered into the raffle, which will benefit MIND (I have two prizes so far; if you can donate something, please let me know! I would be eternally grateful!)

I’m looking forward to meeting you all! But please remember that there are only 25 tickets, so please be quick!

Exciting!

Tickets on sale tomorrow morning at 9 am, priced £6.50 each.

We still need raffle prizes and a cake baker!

I need your help!

Hey there!

I need your help! It looks like my first choice of cake baker is unavailable, but I would still love to provide some tea and cake at the Brighton Blogger’s Bash… the pricing of cake is the reason I have yet to announce ticket prices! So, does anyone know a fabulous baker who might be willing to discuss providing some lovely cake-y goodness, please get in touch!

We also need raffle prizes for the charity draw. Anything lovely you can make or maybe your work could donate, please let me know.

Email me at stephanie(dot)pomfrett(at)gmail(dot)com if you’re able to help in either way…

Thank you!

Update and confirmed date!

Hello all,

Apologies for the quiet front recently- there has been lots of wrangling going on behind the scenes, but I can now confirm the date and venue of the Brighton Blogger’s Bash.

The event will take place on Saturday, June 9th at Super + Super HQ and right now, the event looks like it will be from 2pm-4pm. Due to restrictions on numbers at the venue, 25 tickets will go on sale.

I’m hoping that the event will be a great opportunity for networking and meeting people ‘offline’! So far, the activities I have in mind are: ‘blogger speed dating’ (not really to improve your love life, but to get to know other people!) and a general discussion of the blogging scene in Sussex. If you have any ideas as to what you would like to see on the day, please do let me know- either in the comments, tweeting me @BtonBloggersBash or by emailing brightonbloggersbash (at) gmail (dot) com.

I’m still working out the cost of a ticket, which will purely cover the costs of the day. At the moment, this is likely to be around the £6.50-£7 mark. I’m also hoping to have a charity raffle in aid of MIND, so if you know anyone who makes/sells pretty things that might be willing to donate, I’d be a happy bunny!

If you’d like to know when tickets go on sale, please get in touch!
